Abuse: From the eyes of the unexpected(A GAY GUY!)

You never think its gonna happen to you. you hear about it on the news, your friends parents, or your friend, maybe your parents even go through it or did. Abuse is just something that should be avoided t all costs whether it it be to a loved one, or family member. Its wrong in all forms, and harms and even ruins relationships. Experiencing it in both my home and with my first relationship, i am here to tell you all, STOP; before you lay a hand on another.

I’ll never forget the first time, feeling the humongous force of the belt hitting my rear, just for not staying quiet and sitting on the bed. The pain still brings terror to me, and the nasty divorce that followed did also. My parents got back together in two years, where i remained under the mental, verbal, and physical abuse for fourteen years. I have gained anxietal problems as a result, and have little to no relationship with my father.

Well on the 11th year of that abuse, i finally realized i was gay, and accepted the truth that had been there all along. And doing so, i found my first boyfriend, Zach. We met on facebook, and hit it off, where i met him in the city our second week of knowing eachother, and we started dating. I was 14, he was 16, turning 17 in four months. We hit it off, and fell in love. I gave Zach my virginity, and still, my heart…even after everything he put me through.

It was the day of my Dad’s birthday, ironically enough. On his way dropping me off, we got into a bicker, both not feeling well, he was angry he had to drive me all the way home fro the city and waste gas money when i could have taken the train. That fight soon got to be worse and worse till when we got on the next block over from my house, we were screaming at each other. After the touchy subject of him unable to meet my family because i wasn’t out yet, and how i should treat my dad with more respect, i was so engulfed in rage, i said something unforgivable. I targeted the fact he never had a dad, and it happened.

In the blink of almost an eye, my whole world flipped upside down. I saw him sling back, and aim for my cheekbone where his fist stuck me. I fell to the ground in disbelief, just a week after my dad had done the same and broke my elbow in the process. I teared up, unable to find the words as the look of realization of what he had just done set across his face. Thats the worst part… even the people committing the abuse know its wrong. It took my several months to recover from the mental state that punch put me in, breaking up with him, and gaining the self confidence and courage again to be me. IT took my friends and months of cheering up, and sulking to realize it wasn’t my fault, although things i said were wrong, i woke up after realizing WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT HE IS. No one deserves to get hit under any circumstances, and it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did, thats something we should all know from the start.

The lesson of my pain and struggle, is not to tenderize the heart of the abuser, but to show you all what it can do. It can cause depression, broken homes, broken hearts, bones, tears, and even the loss of a life. Its not worth to get caught up int the moment, and ruin the future. For anyone who has been abused, you know how it feels, and for people abusing…open your eyes! Realize what you’re doing. I hope my story helped, but if someone is abusing you, the best thing you can do is tell an adult or peer (that is if you are an adult).

So i wrote a rap on being a gay teenager, and how i feel about love, dating, and relationships:
